Stretch and Strength
Ages 8 and up (1 hour class)
Stretch and Strength is a conditioning class specifically tailored to the dance student. It is designed to help them achieve the high kicks, splits, multiple turns, and big leaps and jumps that characterize many types of dance. After starting class with an aerobic session to warmup the muscles, the dancers work to increase leg and back flexibility as well as strength in their arm, leg, and core muscles. By combining elements of yoga, pilates, and plyometrics with good old fashioned conditioning exercises like crunches and pushups, the students will improve their overall flexibility and muscle strength.
